(Miri, 26th) The Miss Borneo International pageant will be grandly held on January 9, 2025, at the banquet hall of the Eastwood Valley Golf and Country Club in Miri.
Miri Mayor Adam Yii stated at a press conference held by the city council today that this pageant is not only a beauty event but also a crucial platform for showcasing Borneo culture and promoting regional unity.
Adam Yii announced that the finals date has been rescheduled from the originally planned December to January 9, 2025, to ensure thorough preparation for the event and offer more flexibility for participants and audiences from various locations.
“As the host city, Miri will take this opportunity to demonstrate itself as an exemplary blend of tradition and modernity. During the beauty pageant week (January 3 to 9), participants and guests will be immersed in Miri's unique cultural experiences, including captivating indigenous dance (Ngajat) performances, traditional musical instrument Sape recitals, handicraft exhibitions, and the tasting of a rich variety of cuisines.”
Adam Yii pointed out that the Miss Borneo International pageant is not only a stage for contestants but also a chance to enhance Miri's cultural tourism image significantly. He emphasized that the event will attract global attention, encouraging more tourists to explore Miri's unique cultural heritage and hospitality.
