Releases Debut Original Single on 32nd Birthday, Hu Yushi Writes Song for Self-Healing

Singaporean artist Hu Yushi welcomed her 32nd birthday on Friday (July 3) and simultaneously released her debut original single "Fine". Through music, she documented a period of confusion she once experienced, using it as a way to organize her emotions and start anew.

In an interview, Hu Yushi revealed that during her time of confusion, many people would ask if she was "doing okay." Although she always replied "I’m fine," she was actually a bit lost and tired during that period. After completing the song, she was able to sort out her thoughts and move past that state, embracing a new chapter in her life.

The rain and bubbles in the MV also carry special meanings. She believes that, just like sunshine, rain has its own aspects worth experiencing; bubbles symbolize that difficulties and bottlenecks will eventually dissipate. "Each time you blow a bubble, it’s a reminder that we’re still here, still breathing." Her favorite lyric is, "But some darkness makes things clearer by contrast," because it was that low point that helped her know more clearly what she wants—and what she doesn’t want.

When asked about artists she most wants to collaborate with, she said she admires the creativity of Wang Sulong and Daying, finding them very talented as their songs always end up on her repeat playlist. She hopes to learn from them one day. She also laughed and said she wants to collaborate with actress Bai Lu, who, despite mainly being an actress, has also released several songs.

On Friday, Hu Yushi celebrated her birthday at home with her family over hotpot. She hopes that she and those around her remain healthy and happy, that she can take on more challenges in drama and hosting in the future, and believes that "every opportunity will arrive at the most suitable time."
