A vicious Thai mother took her 12-year-old daughter to Japan and forced her to work as a prostitute in a massage parlor. She was eventually sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison by a Thai court.
According to Thai media reports, the mother, identified as Luck, aged 29, traveled to Japan visa-free with her 12-year-old daughter in June last year. Afterwards, they went to a massage parlor in a building in Tokyo, where the girl received “training” in massage and sexual services.
The mother left Tokyo in July, promising to return, but ultimately did not keep her word. Within just 33 days, the girl was forced to serve more than 60 clients.
Investigations revealed that, through this exploitative practice, the massage parlor profited over 600,000 yen (15,047 ringgit). During this time, the girl was forced to sleep on the kitchen floor and received very little food.
According to the report, in November last year, the girl sought help by reporting to local Japanese police. Japan and Thai investigation agencies jointly initiated an investigation, and the 51-year-old owner of the massage parlor was arrested on suspicion of illegally employing child labor and other charges.
As for the heartless 29-year-old mother, she was later arrested in Taiwan, then extradited to Thailand to face justice. On June 29, the Thai Criminal Court sentenced the mother to 7 years and 6 months in prison.
The court pointed out that Luck had no prior criminal record. She had previously traveled abroad multiple times to work as a massage therapist, with each work period lasting 14 to 19 days and earning between 50,000 and 80,000 baht (6,131 to 9,810 ringgit) per trip.
The prosecution charged her with human trafficking and assisting in prostitution. Based on the evidence presented, the court found her guilty.
Since Luck admitted her guilt, the court gave her a lighter sentence according to the law. The original 15-year prison sentence was halved to 7 years and 6 months.
In addition, her phone has been legally seized as key evidence in this case.
