(Dudong, 7th) In order to effectively strengthen campus fire safety management, comprehensively enhance the fire safety awareness and emergency response capabilities of all staff and students, and create a safe, stable, and harmonious campus environment, Jiuting Chinese School specially invited officials from the Public Relations Department of the E Action Unit of Dudong District Fire and Rescue Bureau on Thursday, April 2, to enter the campus and carry out a themed fire safety knowledge lecture and a hands-on fire emergency drill. The entire faculty and student body participated in this special safety education campaign.
The event began with the fire officers delivering a professional fire safety knowledge lecture to all staff and students. The lecture addressed actual campus fire safety circumstances, explained in detail the common causes of campus fires and the proper response procedures after a fire occurs, and focused on demonstrating the standardized method of safely and orderly evacuating from classrooms to designated assembly points. Emphasis was placed on staying calm and avoiding panic during a sudden fire, which is key to safe escape, guiding staff and students to establish correct emergency fire safety concepts.
After the theoretical explanation, the actual fire drill officially commenced. With the sound of the fire alarm ringing across campus, all staff and students strictly followed the evacuation principles learned from the lecture, lined up in an orderly fashion, and quickly yet safely evacuated to the school's designated assembly area. The entire evacuation process was standardized, efficient, and orderly, fully testing the mastery of fire emergency knowledge and practical responsiveness of both staff and students.
After the drill, fire officers conducted hands-on training on the use of firefighting equipment, demonstrating step-by-step the correct methods and skills for using fire extinguishers and fire blankets, carefully explaining the appropriate scenarios and precautions for different equipment, and inviting staff and students to personally operate the equipment, enabling everyone to truly master practical fire-fighting skills. Afterwards, students also visited the fire truck up close, gaining an intuitive understanding of firefighting rescue equipment and facilities, and experiencing the professionalism of firefighting and rescue work firsthand, further deepening their knowledge of fire safety.
At the end of the activity, Ms. Tao Meihua, principal of Jiuting Chinese School, on behalf of the school, presented a token of appreciation to Haji Afiq from the Dudong Fire and Rescue Action Unit and expressed sincere thanks for the professional guidance and strong support from the fire department.
