Japanese actress Ryoko Hirosue collided with a large truck while driving on the Shin-Tomei Expressway in Shizuoka Prefecture in April, resulting in a male passenger in her car suffering a fracture. On the 22nd, the Kakegawa District Public Prosecutors Office in Shizuoka indicted Ryoko Hirosue for negligent driving causing injury, in violation of the Road Traffic Act.
The indictment states that on or around 6:45 p.m. on April 7, Ryoko Hirosue was suspected of driving at a speed of 185 kilometers per hour on the Shin-Tomei Expressway in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and rear-ending a large truck, causing the male passenger to suffer a fracture. In addition, she was also accused of repeatedly kicking and assaulting a nurse at a hospital in Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture. For this, she was arrested on the spot by Shizuoka Prefectural Police the following day on suspicion of assault, and was sent to the prosecutors for investigation. She was later released by the police on a reserved disposition basis.
On the 22nd, the Kakegawa District Public Prosecutors Office in Shizuoka charged Ryoko Hirosue with negligent driving causing injury, in violation of the Road Traffic Act. As for her alleged assault of the nurse, the prosecution decided not to indict her. Ryoko Hirosue's agency also issued an apology on its official website, stating: “We deeply apologize once again for the great concern and trouble caused to all parties.”
