(Kuching, 23rd) Sarawak's participation in the 2026 Barcelona Mobile World Congress (MWC) aims to advance digital transformation through practical approaches and sustainable development, while simultaneously exploring global premium investment opportunities.
Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, Sarawak's Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, stated that the MWC will be held from March 2 to 5, 2026 at Fira Gran Via, offering Sarawak a platform to engage with global partners and strengthen industrial and digital capabilities.
He said: “This aligns with Sarawak's development strategy, balancing economic growth, social welfare, and environmental responsibility. We continue to expand our fiber optic network, rural broadband, and satellite connectivity solutions to ensure reliable and inclusive network coverage.”
“These initiatives ensure that digital transformation brings tangible benefits to communities throughout Sarawak while supporting long-term, sustainable growth,” he noted in a statement today.

He said Sarawak will seek collaborations in digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence applications, smart city systems, renewable energy, and hydrogen technology at MWC 2026.
