(Kuala Lumpur, 2nd) The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm warning for parts of Sarawak, with heavy rain and strong winds expected to continue until 12 noon today.
The affected areas include Serian town in Samarahan Division and Sri Aman Division.
The Meteorological Department stated that this alert is based on the detection of possible thunderstorms with rainfall exceeding 20 millimeters per hour, and such weather conditions are expected to last for more than an hour.
The department advises residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and pay attention to the risks of sudden floods, fallen trees, and reduced visibility. In particular, those traveling during the warning period should exercise extra caution.
