Jess Lee's 'Value Soars' and Calls to Seize Opportunities, Nicholas Teo 'Desires Nothing' and Has a Simple Birthday

Rebounding to fame through the Chinese variety show 'Singer 2025', Malaysia's 'Queen of Iron Lungs' Jess Lee has recently received a flood of work invitations and her schedule is packed. Nevertheless, she still took the time to return to Malaysia to participate in the 8TV 'The Best of Us' Season 3 Music Festival. She admitted that after debuting, she spent a long time developing her career overseas and rarely had the chance to sing in Malaysia. "So from the very first season, whenever there's a chance and my schedule allows, I will always come back. This is the place that nurtured me and started my singing journey, and many fans here have continuously supported me. No matter where I am, being able to come back to this land to sing is extremely moving for both me and everyone."

The music festival took place on the 6th evening in Kuala Lumpur. Singers including Nicholas Teo, Jess Lee, Jeryl Lee, KJ Lim, Vickey Seah, Jesslyn, and Sharon Wang attended the press conference before the show, sharing their experiences participating in the program and behind-the-scenes stories.

Jess Lee joked that she’s been so busy lately it’s almost hard to catch her breath, but her heart is full of gratitude: "For me, being able to sing, to be seen again, and to rekindle everyone’s memories is a very happy thing. Although I'm busy recently, it's a happiness I cherish.'" When the host teased that her "value has soared," she laughed and replied, "But I still came back!" and emphasized: "Opportunity is the most important! Malaysia doesn’t lack talent—it only lacks platforms. So every opportunity must be seized and treasured."

Nicholas Teo, who had received invitations since the first season, finally appeared on stage in the third season. He said that 'The Best of Us' is a great platform. "For singers like us who are fortunate enough to make it overseas, coming back to join this program is actually approached with a learning mindset." He admitted that many Malaysian singers dream of developing overseas, but he feels that regardless of whether such opportunities arise or not, the most important thing is to continuously grow and mature.

As he’s about to turn 43, Nicholas Teo laughed and said he has "no desires" for birthdays anymore: "I've gone through this day more than 40 times, so it’s really nothing special. If I could choose, I’d just want to spend it quietly and peacefully."

As his tour is about to conclude, he talked about his music plans: "I’ll go with the flow. What’s meant to happen will happen, the key is to maintain a good state. If there’s time, I hope to continue making new music. Although my new album was just released not long ago, I feel that having continuous new works is what truly defines a singer."

KJ Lim and Vickey Seah, who have participated in all three seasons of 'The Best of Us', collaborated on and performed the theme song, and also performed on stage with Jeryl Lee. The two revealed that they will each release brand new music works next year.
