Three Leo Clubs Jointly Inaugurated, Joining Hands to Launch the New Leadership Team

(Miri, 26th) The Leo Clubs of three educational institutions in Miri—St. Columba's Secondary School, Riam Institute of Technology, and Curtin University—jointly held the 2026-2027 “Induction, Oath-taking, and Inauguration Ceremony” on the 24th of this month at the St. Columba's School hall, marking the beginning of a new term for their leadership teams.

The event brought together Leo members, faculty advisors, Lions Club leaders, teachers, parents, and invited guests to witness young leaders entering a new phase, with the venue brimming with a spirit of unity, service, and leadership.

The ceremony began with the St. Columba's Leo Club faculty advisor Lion delivering an orientation talk, introducing both new and existing members to the Leo Club’s mission and vision, elaborating on the three core values of “Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity,” and emphasizing the importance of serving society, teamwork, and leadership development. To enhance interaction, the organizers also arranged a Q&A session and quizzes, allowing participants to deepen their understanding of the Leo movement in a relaxed atmosphere.

Miri Lions Club president, Lion Vincent Wong, delivered a speech congratulating the new board members and newly joined Leo members for joining the Leo family, and praised Organizing Chairperson Leo Liang Peiliya and her team for their dedication, attention to detail, and spirit of cooperation during the preparations, ensuring the event’s smooth success.

He also encouraged the Leo Clubs of the three schools to strengthen cross-school cooperation, uphold the spirit of “Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity,” and jointly plan more meaningful service programs and leadership activities.

He stated that collaboration between schools and universities would not only build lasting friendships but also bring more positive and far-reaching impact to society.
