(Miri, 3rd) Miri Police District Chief ACP ALEXSON NAGA ANAK CHABU confirmed that the police received a report from a man who discovered an incomplete human skeleton in the jungle at the 7th mile of Miri-Bintulu Highway.
The deceased's remains have been sent to the Miri Hospital mortuary for further investigation. The police have also obtained bone samples from Miri Hospital and blood samples from the deceased's immediate family for DNA testing, with the DNA samples sent to the Kuching Chemistry Department for analysis.
According to the DNA test analysis results, the skeleton's identity belongs to the missing person Musah Bin Mantali, with a 99.9% match to the blood sample taken from the deceased's child, Ismail.
The close relatives of the deceased have been informed of the DNA report results and have stated that they will handle the funeral arrangements.
