Taiwanese celebrity NONO (Chen Xuanyu) was indicted by the Shilin Prosecutor's Office on charges including 7 counts of sexual assault and molestation. However, the Shilin District Court only found him guilty of one count of attempted forcible intercourse and sentenced him to 2 years and 6 months. After both the prosecutors and NONO appealed, the High Court dismissed the appeals on April 23, upholding the original sentence. In addition, he was separately accused of sexually assaulting and molesting two female victims at a massage parlor and inside a car. The Shilin Prosecutor's Office had initially dropped the charges in 2024, but the High Prosecutors Office ordered a reinvestigation. In August last year, after a second investigation, the Shilin Prosecutor's Office found the evidence against NONO to be clear and indicted him on charges of forcible intercourse and forcible molestation. However, on the 13th, the Shilin District Court acquitted him.
The Shilin District Court determined that there was clear evidence for the one count of attempted forcible intercourse, sentencing NONO to 2 years and 6 months. As for the other charges, which included 3 counts of forcible intercourse, 1 count of attempted forcible intercourse, and 2 counts of forcible molestation, the judges found the prosecution's evidence to be insufficient and acquitted NONO of all those charges.
