‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Announced: Original Cast Returns, First Teaser Image Released

On July 1st, Disney’s 20th Century Studios officially announced that the classic fashion comedy ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ is getting a sequel, now officially in production. The original cast—‘Meryl’ Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci—will all return. Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh will also join the cast, playing Meryl's husband.

Details of the sequel’s plot have not yet been revealed, but rumors suggest it will depict how 'Miranda' (played by Meryl Streep) fights to stay relevant as traditional magazine publishing declines, and how she faces off with her old assistant 'Emily' (played by Emily Blunt), who is now a top executive at a luxury conglomerate controlling massive advertising budgets. Whether Anne Hathaway’s character ‘Andy’ will be a main role remains unclear, since the original’s ending saw her move to work as a newspaper reporter. The original film’s director and screenwriter will also return. So far the only teaser released is an image of two ‘devil red’ high heels, keeping fans on edge. ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is expected to premiere worldwide in May 2026.
