(Kuching, 3rd) Global technology company FPT has partnered with Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) to jointly promote the development of Sarawak's digital economy.
The two companies recently signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at making Sarawak a leading digital stronghold in the region.
This collaboration highlights FPT's commitment to innovation in Southeast Asia and demonstrates its capability in providing advanced digital solutions in the public sector.
Datuk Osman, CEO of SDEC, emphasized that this collaboration reflects Sarawak's commitment to developing the digital economy.
"Specifically, in leveraging technology to drive growth, improve efficiency, and foster innovation, we hope this collaboration will enable both parties to offer modern solutions that not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of customers and stakeholders."
He added that this collaboration will help both parties provide modern solutions beyond customers and stakeholders' expectations.
Pham Minh Tuan, Executive Vice President of FPT, stated that as a strategic technology partner of SDEC, FPT is committed to developing and commercializing new technologies, focusing on key areas such as e-government, smart cities, healthcare, energy, and cybersecurity.
"In our nearly two decades of development in Malaysia, we have gained trust and become a reliable IT partner. By combining Sarawak's role in Malaysia's digital transformation with our expertise, we aim to create AI-driven solutions to address the challenges in Malaysia and Southeast Asia."
FPT first entered Malaysia in 2006 and currently has more than 1,300 professionals serving industries such as banking, healthcare, energy, and the public sector.
As part of its growth strategy, FPT plans to expand its Malaysian workforce to 300 to 500 experts within the next five years and establish a global delivery center in Sarawak to meet the growing demand of customers in East Malaysia and Brunei.
These efforts will improve Sarawak's digital infrastructure and help it become more competitive in the digital world.
Additionally, FPT will also contribute to Sarawak's digital ecosystem by nurturing local talent and supporting startups.
