In conjunction with its 30th anniversary, 988 Radio grandly held the "988 Voice Festival" from May 8th to 10th at The Starhill, Kuala Lumpur, with the theme "30 Years·Listening to 988". The event invited listeners to revisit the sound memories of the radio station accompanying the city's growth, and officially received the "Malaysia's Longest-Running Chinese Private Radio Station" award from the Malaysia Book of Records, marking an important milestone as 988 enters its thirtieth year.

At the opening ceremony, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), YB Fadhlina Sidek, attended in person to officiate the opening and witnessed the record certification awarded to 988. She stated that "988" originates from Kuala Lumpur’s 98.8FM frequency and symbolizes the deep connection between the radio station and the city. Over the past 30 years, as Kuala Lumpur continued to develop, 988 has accompanied countless listeners through different life stages, documenting the changes of the times with its voice, injecting emotion and warmth into the city.

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, 988 specially curated the "988 Voice Festival," extending the "voice" from radio into real-life experience. The three-day event ran from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., featuring the "988 Story Exhibition Area," showcasing precious photos and behind-the-scenes stories from nearly 30 years of broadcasting, allowing the public to relive the memories of the radio station accompanying the city’s growth. In addition, the "Voice Post Office" allowed the public to record voice messages, either to preserve memories or send to significant people.

Another highlight was the specially crafted radio play "Mission Pass" for the 30th anniversary, inspired by the history of Malaysian radio dramas. Through live sound performances, it led the audience to experience the charm of radio dramas. 988 also once again moved its live studio outdoors, allowing listeners to experience the lively atmosphere of DJs broadcasting live up close.

On May 9th, several former 988 DJs, including Pei Le, May Zi, Mike Jia Yi, Cheryl Li Xinyi, and Ah Yu, were specially invited to reunite with current DJs for the "Old Friends Limited-Time Broadcast," sparking a collective wave of nostalgia; on May 10th, the finals of "SUPER Trainees 2026" took place, witnessing the birth of a new generation of voices.

In addition, 988 officially announced the first wave of performers for "After Work Fest 2026." The music festival will be held on July 25 at Merdeka Stadium, with the initial lineup including 988 DJ and singer Danny Wen Lim and other accomplished singers. The second wave of the lineup will be announced in June, with Taiwanese and Japanese singers joining, generating much anticipation.
