Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid urges food operators on government university campuses to prioritize providing balanced and healthy meals, rather than solely aiming for profit.
He stated that every university should continue implementing the compassionate menu plan to offer nutritious meals that benefit more students.
“I hope that not only at National University of Malaysia (UKM), but other campuses should also continue the compassionate menu and not just pursue high profits.”
He said this while attending the opening ceremony of Kuali Cafe@UKM at the UKM Pusanika building on Sunday (January 5th).
Ahmad Zahid emphasized that food operators must also pay attention to proper food waste management to avoid damaging the environmental ecosystem.
Additionally, UKM Vice-Chancellor Datuk Mohamad Bin Iwan Toriman stated in a message that he hopes Kuali Cafe@UKM will not only be a place to enjoy delicious food but also a space to share experiences, create wonderful memories, and strengthen relationships with each other.
