Chinese and Thai authorities have jointly extradited the main suspect surnamed Huang in a major cross-border online gambling case from Thailand to China.
According to China Central Television News, under the arrangement of China's Ministry of Public Security and with the strong support of relevant Thai authorities, Tianjin police on the 29th extradited from Thailand to China a major suspect surnamed Huang in a cross-border online gambling case.
Investigations found that from September 2022 to June 2023, the main suspect Huang, along with others, formed a criminal gang in Cambodia. Through the Internet, they set up the "Wanhé Football" gambling platform, luring people with the promise of high profits, recruiting individuals to engage in online gambling criminal activities, and using an agent system to develop subordinates and gambler members. They solicited various levels of agents and gamblers in China. The money involved in the case exceeds 500 million RMB (289 million MYR).
In February 2026, the relevant Thai authorities ruled to extradite the main suspect Huang to the Chinese side. The Tianjin police will now comprehensively carry out investigation and prosecution work related to the case.
