(City, 12th) The President of the World Chinese Writers Association, Sun De’an, today officially announced the establishment of the “World Chinese Writers Arts Foundation”, with the aim of carrying on the spirit of Chinese literature, uniting the strength of writers from around the globe, and safeguarding as well as opening up new horizons for Chinese literature.

President Sun De’an stated in a press release: “After thirty-three glorious years, and having borne the passion, ideals, and collective memory of countless literary colleagues, the ‘Asian Chinese Writers Arts Foundation’ now gently draws to a close, having successfully fulfilled its historical mission.

However, our original aspiration remains, and the spirit lives on. To ensure the torch of literature continues to shine, I solemnly announce the official establishment of the ‘World Chinese Writers Arts Foundation’.

We sincerely look forward to Chinese writers worldwide continuing to join hands, using their pens and hearts to nurture the fertile ground of literature, so that the lifeblood of our culture can flow on through the generations, never ending.”

President Sun De’an also reminisced emotionally about the history of the “Asian Chinese Writers Arts Foundation”: “The foundation was established in 1992, and my highest respects go out to successive literary elders:
From Ba Jin, Bing Xin, Su Xuelin, to Shi Zhecun, Ke Ling, Xin Di, Ai Qing, Cao Yu, Xiao Gan, Bian Zhilin, Lin Haiyin, Zhang Xiuya, Yao Tuo, Zhong Dingwen, Ji Xianlin, Shi Yingzhou, Fang Beifang, Huang Dongping, Qi Jun,
as well as Yu Guangzhong and Sima Zhongyuan in 2008, Rao Zongyi, Wang Meng, Luo Lan, Rongzi, Ma Han in 2011, and up to Ma Lun in 2023—nearly thirty writers.

Their contributions to literature and even across international cultural fields have been outstanding; their lifelong dedication to the spirit of literature not only reflects our past but also inspires our future.
Their lives and works bring us endless enlightenment.”

The establishment of the “World Chinese Writers Arts Foundation” marks a new stage in the development of Chinese literature. With a broader international perspective, the Foundation will promote literary exchanges and support for creative work, uniting Chinese writers worldwide to jointly compose a new chapter for literature.
