Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Khalid stated that the police are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation into allegations of a conspiracy to overthrow the government and disrupt national stability.
When asked, he said that this matter requires ample time for an investigation and cannot be rushed, in order to ensure fairness and transparency in legal procedures.
He emphasized that only after a thorough and professional review of all details will further action be taken.
“This matter is still being processed by the police, and we hope all parties remain patient. The investigation will definitely be carried out professionally based on the facts and evidence already in hand.
“If there are any new updates, we will announce them.”
Khalid previously pointed out that the police received a report on Thursday (26th) involving a local influential figure allegedly colluding with an international media organization in an attempt to overthrow the government and disrupt national stability.
He said that the investigation is currently being led by the Secret Societies, Gambling and Vice Division (D5) of the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department, handled by the Classified Crime Investigation Unit (USJT).
