Wang Xiaohong, State Councilor and Minister of Public Security of China, met with Christopher Wray, Director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, in Beijing on the 24th. Wang Xiaohong stated that he hopes both sides will deepen cooperation in fields such as drug control and combating fraud, contributing to the building of a constructive and strategically stable relationship between China and the United States.
According to Xinhua News Agency, both sides agreed to continue deepening exchanges and cooperation in the field of law enforcement.
Wang Xiaohong noted that in May of this year, President Xi Jinping held a historic meeting with President Trump, which pointed the way forward for cooperation in various fields. He hopes that both sides will implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, carry out more constructive dialogues on the basis of mutual respect, deepen practical cooperation in fields such as drug control, combating telecom and online fraud and child pornography crimes, anti-money laundering, and pursuing fugitives, strive to achieve more tangible outcomes, and help build a constructive and strategically stable China-US relationship to better benefit the peoples of both countries.
According to an announcement posted on the official website of China's Ministry of Public Security on the 24th, since the beginning of this year, law enforcement agencies from China and the US have carried out a series of practical collaborations in fields such as drug control, repatriation and fugitive tracking, and the fight against telecom fraud, achieving many tangible results.
