Twilight Mansion Begins Filming: Xu Bin Becomes Mysterious Guardian

Astro Originals’ brand-new Chinese drama series Twilight Mansion held its opening ceremony on the 10th, bringing together talented actors from Singapore and Malaysia, including Xu Bin, Huang Chengxi, Huang Ruoxi, Xiao Liling, Li Weishen, Fu Liling, and Zhuang Zhongwei. This marks the start of an original series blending suspense, fantasy, and psychological healing.

The story centers around a mysterious mansion, focusing on a group of residents each carrying their own regrets and obsessions in life. Xu Bin plays the calm and gentle mansion manager “Master Huang.” Not only does he accompany and guide the residents through their final choices in life, but he also possesses the special ability to see the “remaining time numbers” above their heads. As more residents move in, the line between “saving” and “manipulating” for Master Huang becomes increasingly blurred. Xu Bin shared that Master Huang is one of the more mature roles in his acting career, with a composed appearance and a deep understanding of humans’ various obsessions and life experiences.

This is Huang Chengxi’s first collaboration with Xu Bin. This time, he breaks away from his previous “younger brother” persona to challenge himself in the role of a mature, rational, and responsible emergency doctor “A Jian.” In the drama, A Jian accidentally enters the Twilight Mansion while searching for his suicidal sister, and later decides to stay on as the mansion’s resident doctor. Speaking about their scenes together, Huang Chengxi revealed that at first, their relationship is like that of a mentor and disciple, with close interactions; but as the plot develops, their positions drift apart and ultimately lead to confrontation, becoming one of the central emotional tensions of the series.

The 10-episode Twilight Mansion will air every Sunday at 9:30 p.m. starting from December 6, 2026. Viewers can watch it via Astro AEC (Channel 306), Astro GO, On Demand, or sooka.
