(Kedah, 29th) According to updated data from the Malaysian Meteorological Department, as of 6 AM Sunday (March 29), four districts in Kedah—Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, and Baling—have been placed under a Level 2 high temperature (heatwave) alert.
Data shows that several other areas in the state are at Level 1 high temperature (alert) status, including Bandar Baharu, Kulim, Kuala Muda, Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Pendang, and Sik.
In addition, all areas in Perlis, the Northern District of Penang Mainland, and Kinta, Kuala Kangsar, and Upper Perak in Perak are also at alert level.
The daily highest temperature for heatwave level is between 37 to 40 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days; for alert level, the daily highest temperature is between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, also for at least three consecutive days.
