Hong Kong singer-songwriter Feng Yunqian held an online interview with Malaysian media on the 9th to promote his new single "Sotheby's." During the interview, he talked about the creative inspiration behind the song and also mentioned his deep admiration for Malaysian singer-songwriter Firdhaus, bluntly expressing hope for a chance to write songs together.

Feng Yunqian said with a laugh that he started listening to Firdhaus's music all because his 18-year-old niece is a fan: "She really likes Firdhaus's songs, so I started getting into his music too. I find his works very touching; his control of emotions is well balanced. His songs can move people and resonate with listeners—they really get into your head. I greatly appreciate his songwriting and hope to learn from him. I also hope that one day, we'll have the chance to write songs together."

He revealed that when he came to Malaysia at the end of September to take part in the "MY FM BIG SHOW Star Box Universe" in Penang, he happened to be assigned to the same backstage lounge as Firdhaus: "It was pretty lucky, really—we had the chance to chat and exchange ideas, and got to know each other's music better."

Speaking about his Penang performance, Feng Yunqian said with a smile, "I was really happy—that was my first time performing in Penang. Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations since I knew the audience there might not recognize me or my music. But the atmosphere at the event completely exceeded expectations; everyone was really engaged and passionate, and super friendly. The whole vibe was rocking!" He shared that he had performed in Malaysia years ago but only stayed one day then. "This time, I wanted to take the chance to look around outside, but since I had a cough and wasn’t feeling well, I could only obediently stay in the hotel and rest."

When Feng Yunqian held his first solo concert at Hong Kong Coliseum two years ago, he invited the "Malaysian goddess" Min Chen Lin as a special guest for a spicy dance performance. He highly praised Min Chen Lin's professionalism: "She has a dance background, so she actually led me through the dance. I'm really grateful for her patience and guidance."

He admitted that he dreams of one day bringing his solo concert to Malaysia: "This is a big dream for me, and I really hope that in the future I’ll have more chances to come to Malaysia and sing—and hopefully fulfill my dream of holding a solo concert here." He also added that he knows the Malaysian audience really loves listening to Mandarin songs: "I also hope I’ll have the chance to release a Mandarin song for everyone here."

As for whether he would consider acting in TV dramas, he laughed: "If someone invited me to act, I’d consider it! I like trying different things. But for now, nobody's approached me about this, so I’ll keep focusing on music and performing—and I hope to have even more opportunities to come to Malaysia and sing for everyone."
