Located in the southern part of Zhejiang Province, China, Lishui Airport officially opened to traffic on the 18th. That afternoon, flight CA1873 from Beijing Capital International Airport arrived in Lishui, becoming the airport’s first inbound flight.

Lishui Airport is located in the southwest of Lishui City and is a high slope, high fill airport, with the runway fill height reaching 97 meters. In 2008, Lishui Airport was included in the 'National Civil Airport Layout Plan' approved by the State Council of China and announced by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. At the beginning of 2020, the airport relocation and construction project was officially launched.

The airport covers an area of 3,430 mu (about 228.7 hectares), with a runway 2,800 meters long and 45 meters wide. The terminal building has a construction area of 12,000 square meters and can accommodate mainstream aircraft such as Boeing 737, Airbus 320, and China’s domestically produced large aircraft C919. In the current phase, the airport can meet the annual passenger throughput of 1 million people and cargo and mail throughput of 4,000 tons.

As a major hometown of overseas Chinese in Zhejiang Province, Lishui has 473,000 overseas Chinese and ethnic Chinese residing in more than 160 countries and regions around the world. The official opening of Lishui Airport also brings convenience to these overseas Chinese.

It is reported that from July to October this year, Lishui Airport plans to open routes to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Guiyang. In November, routes to Chongqing, Chengdu and others are planned to be added, with over ten routes to be in operation by the end of the year; by 2026, routes to Changsha, Haikou and others are planned to be expanded, aiming for a total of 14 or more routes.
