Published at Jun 13, 2025 04:53 pm
This year's first typhoon 'Butterfly' is approaching Hainan. Affected by the typhoon, Sanya in Hainan experienced continuous heavy rain accompanied by strong winds on the morning of the 13th.

Many street landscape trees in Sanya have been battered by strong winds, resulting in broken branches and fallen trees, causing inconvenience to vehicles and pedestrians. However, major roads remain largely unaffected.

As of 10 a.m. on the 13th, the center of 'Butterfly' (strong tropical storm level) was located in the offshore waters near Ledong County, Hainan Province. It is expected to move northward at a speed of about 10 kilometers per hour, skirting the western part of Hainan Island. The maximum wind force near the center is 10 (28 meters/second).

The Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau continues to issue a Level 3 typhoon warning.

Under the influence of Typhoon 'Butterfly', from the 13th to the 15th, Hainan Island, western and northern Guangdong, eastern Guangxi, and coastal areas will experience heavy to severe rainstorms, with extremely heavy rain in parts of western Hainan, western Guangdong, and southeastern Guangxi. The rainfall carries some extremity.

The Hainan Provincial Meteorological Bureau predicts that 'Butterfly' will make landfall again in Xuwen, Guangdong to Beihai, Guangxi around noon on the 14th, turning northeast after landing and gradually weakening in strength.
