(Bandar Seri Begawan, 16th) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei has issued a statement expressing that Brunei welcomes the signing of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and commends U.S. President Donald Trump for his leadership demonstrated through his "comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict."
We once again sincerely thank the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, and the Republic of Turkey for their mediation efforts.
Brunei urges all relevant parties to observe and faithfully fulfill their obligations to uphold and implement the agreement. This must lead to a permanent ceasefire, mutual release of detainees, immediate and safe provision of humanitarian assistance, protection of the rights of Palestinians in their homeland, and ensuring conditions conducive to Gaza's reconstruction.
Brunei reiterates its firm support for the Palestinian people, and supports, based on a two-state solution with pre-1967 borders and East Jerusalem as the capital, the establishment of an independent, sovereign State of Palestine.
