(Kuching, 14th) Cambodia is willing to cooperate with Sarawak in the agricultural sector to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
Datuk Osman, Cambodian Senior Minister for Special Missions (Islamic Affairs), pointed out that Cambodia has abundant agricultural products, especially rice and cashews, but still faces difficulties in the processing segment.
"The Premier of Sarawak will send a team to Cambodia to study the establishment of a rice processing center. Cambodia produces a large amount of rice, which was mainly exported to Thailand and Vietnam in the past. If the processing center is built, exports can be expanded to more countries."
He made the above remarks at a press conference after paying a courtesy visit to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari today.
Osman added that Cambodia's annual cashew production exceeds 1 million tons, but faces challenges in packaging. Therefore, Cambodian investors sincerely invite Sarawak investors to visit Cambodia and explore cooperation opportunities.
In addition, he said that since Cambodia has ports, it is hoped that Sarawak can supply oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The Sarawak Premier will send a delegation to Cambodia to study this issue.
