Sarawak OSEIC’s Three Children Sponsored by Japanese Foundation: Early Integration into Private Kindergartens with Peers

(Kuching, 14th) — Three children from Sarawak’s One-Stop Early Intervention Center (OSEIC) have entered private kindergartens earlier than planned under a transitional program sponsored by The Nippon Foundation of Japan, allowing them to learn in an inclusive environment alongside their peers.

The three children are Muhamad Reza Iman at Perdana Sentosa Kindergarten, Mohamad Reghar Hazi at Kurnia Kindergarten, and Aira Alisha at Puncak Ilmu Kindergarten.

The program, implemented in collaboration with TOY8, assesses the children’s readiness for school through developmental screening and expert observation.

Minister of Women, Children and Community Wellbeing Development of Sarawak, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, pointed out that the program not only allows children to grow in an inclusive learning environment—helping them build confidence, social skills and independence—but also frees up places at OSEIC for more children in need of support.

“We have seen that with proper support, children are able to adapt, grow, and achieve results that surprise us. This is a life-changing experience for families, teachers, and communities alike.”

She made these remarks while presenting a certificate of appreciation to The Nippon Foundation representative Makoto Wada at the TOY Eight Playground in The Gardens Mall, Kuala Lumpur.
