Jang Dong Woo Holds First Concert in Malaysia, Gets 'Tricked' by Fans During Interactive Game

Korean popular boy group INFINITE’s all-rounder singer-dancer Jang Dong Woo recently held his first solo concert in Malaysia as part of the 《CONNECTION》 fan tour. The entire venue was not only bursting with energy, but the highlight came during the interactive segment where he was hilariously "tricked" by fans—causing wave after wave of laughter and creating an unforgettable moment of the night.

Right from the opening, Jang Dong Woo set the stage ablaze with back-to-back performances of "TGIF" and "Romeo," instantly igniting the atmosphere. He then introduced himself in Mandarin: "Hi korang, saya 张东雨!", drawing endless screams from fans. To further connect with the audience, he designed a special “This or That” paddle game, allowing fans to answer questions and win prizes.

Unexpectedly, what was meant to be a heartwarming segment left him flustered instead, as fans kept raising their paddles and were even caught secretly changing their answers. Amused and exasperated, he remarked, "Why are there more and more people holding up paddles? Shouldn’t there be fewer and fewer?" In the end, two lucky fans won his autographed posters, but Jang Dong Woo’s helpless yet adorable reaction had already gotten the whole venue roaring with laughter.

Beyond his stage presence, Jang Dong Woo’s foodie side was also on display. He revealed that he arrived in Kuala Lumpur a day early and made a special trip to Jalan Alor night market to feast, giving satay his highest praise, "I smelled the fragrance of satay on the plane and it immediately woke me up!" He also learned to say “Sedap” (delicious) in Bahasa Melayu and nailed the pronunciation, earning a round of applause from the audience.

When asked about durian, he candidly said the taste is unique, even describing the texture as similar to Korean roasted sweet potato, and comically mimicked a vendor opening a durian—making the fans laugh their hearts out. He playfully asked, "Do you like durian? Do you like mangosteen? Or do you like me?" The entire audience replied in unison "We like Jang Dong Woo!", to which he proudly declared, "Yay! I win!"

During the show, he also shared that he will be releasing a new album in November and hopes fans will give it lots of support. When previewing the final encore song, he half-jokingly "taught" fans to shout his name to request an encore. As expected, after singing "Perfect," the whole venue loudly chanted "Jang Dong Woo!", bringing him back on stage with a smile. Before performing “You” as the closing number, fan messages appeared on the big screen, making him choke up with emotion. Still, he fought back tears and reassured himself jokingly: "No crying allowed. Jang Dong Woo, you did great!" As the night ended with a group photo and the promise, "See you next year," the fan meeting concert concluded perfectly—filled with laughter, touching moments, and a sense of warmth all around.
