Following the declaration by Thailand and Cambodia to implement an immediate unconditional ceasefire starting at 24:00 on July 28, the Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces, Tan Sri Mohamad Nizam, is leading a delegation to Thailand and Cambodia to carry out diplomatic dialogue.
The Malaysian Armed Forces issued a statement today (29th) indicating that, according to a joint statement released after a special meeting, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia jointly announced that Thailand and Cambodia have pledged to enforce an immediate unconditional ceasefire from 24:00 on July 28, 2025.
Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces, Tan Sri Mohamad Nizam, is leading the delegation to Thailand and Cambodia for bilateral diplomatic discussions.
The statement added that, although the ceasefire agreement has been implemented, several small-scale skirmishes occurred initially. However, following a meeting between the regional commanders of both sides at 10 am today (29th), a renewed consensus was reached.

"This includes maintaining the ceasefire agreement, prohibiting attacks on civilians, halting troop reinforcements, forbidding troop movements, assisting with the repatriation of casualties, and establishing a coordinating team composed of four representatives from each side."
Additionally, following the outcome of the upcoming "General Border Committee" (GBC) meeting scheduled for August 4, 2025, further consultations and decisions will be made.
The statement also revealed that the Malaysian delegation will proceed to Phnom Penh for further talks with the Cambodian side.
