(Miri 19th) Sarawak DAP Secretary Ling Sie Kiong stated that in the bidding for school security across Sarawak, local security companies were marginalized as they only secured 20 out of 243 districts. This issue directly impacts the rights of local operators and employees in Sarawak. It is a matter that significantly affects the people of Sarawak, and concrete actions are required from the relevant authorities rather than shirking responsibility.
"Regarding this, I must clearly point out that the Sarawak Education Department, as the executing agency, and the Sarawak Federal Treasury responsible for the bidding, along with other component parties of the Sarawak government coalition, are responsible for prioritizing how to protect the interests of local security companies. They need to reflect on their unfulfilled responsibilities in this process, instead of shifting the blame, like SUPP, onto others, allowing Sarawakians to be bullied on their own land."
Ling Sie Kiong emphasized that the Sarawak DAP will continue to stand up for the people of Sarawak, striving for fair policies and treatment. We urge the Sarawak government coalition and relevant departments to confront the issue and take concrete actions to ensure that the rights of Sarawak security companies and their employees are no longer ignored.
