(Seria, 8th) The Seria Fuzhou Association in Brunei recently held an elderly appreciation banquet, creating a warm and lively atmosphere. In his speech, Association President Huang Linming encouraged fellow townspeople to work together in the final stretch of preparations for the association’s 70th anniversary celebration.
President Huang stated that although the preparations are exhausting, everyone should continue their efforts to ensure the festivities are a complete success. He also revealed that to support the Brunei Chinese Charity Association’s crematorium construction initiative, the association has raised several thousand dollars in donations, which will be officially handed over during the 70th anniversary celebration program on November 29th. The handover will be witnessed by Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Xiao Jianguo, and the donations will go to Chairman Sun Shengli of the Chinese Charity Association, as well as the educational funds for Chinese schools in Seria.
President Huang pointed out that this celebration will be unprecedented in splendor, with about 50 overseas fellow guests confirmed to attend so far. Together with local guests, the event is expected to be even more lively and festive. He also expressed gratitude to the two experienced emcees Cheng Boxing and Chen Yongxing, whose participation will ensure a well-arranged and smoothly connected program flow.
He emphasized that while the association entertains and celebrates, they also remember the sweet memories and fighting spirit that belong to the Fuzhou community in the long river of history.
At the appreciation banquet, the association also presented invitations to the elders and consultants, including Permanent Honorary Consultants Zheng Qicheng and Huang Rencai, as well as Honorary Consultants Tian Wenyu and Zhang Rongshun.
