(Seria, 7th) A delegation of four from the Board of Directors of the Seria Kwong Wai Mutual Aid Society, including Chairman Yap Tian Fook, Deputy Chairman Wong Kar Seng, Vice Chairman Lau Chee Hong, and Deputy Chinese Secretary Cheok Ming Han, recently paid a visit to the society’s Honorary Advisors Cheong Eng Hong and Cheong Fook Lee. Aside from extending their greetings, they also cordially invited the two to attend the Society’s upcoming 55th Anniversary and 2025 Annual Elderly Celebration Dinner to be held on November 15.
Chairman Yap Tian Fook and Deputy Chairman Wong Kar Seng, on behalf of the Board, presented invitation cards which were graciously accepted by Cheong Eng Hong and Cheong Fook Lee, father and son, who also sent their greetings and best wishes to the Society.
During the conversation, Yap Tian Fook briefed the two Honorary Advisors on the progress of preparations, saying that everything was going smoothly and the celebration dinner would proceed as scheduled, with an enthusiastic turnout expected.
It is worth mentioning that this year, Honorary Advisor Cheong Eng Hong once again acts as sponsor for the elderly, generously donating three gifts of angpows (each worth BND 1,000) to be presented to the three oldest members of the Society as tokens of respect and blessing.
The Board of Directors of the Seria Kwong Wai Mutual Aid Society expressed heartfelt thanks to Cheong Eng Hong for his long-term enthusiastic support and care for the elderly members, believing that this fully reflects the Society’s fine tradition of "respecting the elderly, upholding virtue, and passing on the torch."
