A terrifying train accident occurred at Shiratori Station in Osaka City, Japan, on the afternoon of the 22nd. A man in his 40s allegedly attempted suicide by jumping onto the tracks and was violently struck by a fast-moving train. The force of the impact caused his body to rebound back onto the platform, tragically hitting a Taiwanese female passenger in her 20s who was waiting for the train, resulting in a severe head injury and collapse. The man who jumped onto the tracks was later confirmed dead after being taken to hospital, the train driver sustained minor injuries, and two other passengers experienced distress from the shock.

According to Japan's ABC NEWS, the incident occurred at 1:56 p.m. that day, when police received a report stating that "someone had jumped off at Shiratori Station." Investigations revealed that the man in his 40s had suddenly leapt from the platform onto the tracks and collided with a rapid express train that was passing through at over 80km/h without stopping at the station. Due to the extreme force of the collision, the man was flung back onto the platform on the spot.

After rebounding, the man immediately struck a Taiwanese female passenger who was waiting on the platform. The female passenger later recounted the event on social media, saying that she was filming with her back to the train at the time. Her husband, upon witnessing the man being thrown back after jumping onto the tracks, immediately pulled her out of the way and shielded her head. Both of them fell to the ground.

The female tourist revealed that her left foot was struck with force, and the back right side of her head also hit the ground due to the fall, leaving her briefly feeling dizzy and unwell. After being rushed to the hospital for examination, fortunately, her life was not in danger. However, the man who jumped onto the tracks succumbed to his injuries.

In addition, the train’s windshield shattered, causing minor injuries to the driver, and two other male and female passengers on the train reportedly felt unwell due to shock. Police are currently investigating the reason for the man’s suicide attempt.
