(Bandar Seri Begawan, 15th) The Government of His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei, through the Community Development Department of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, recently distributed a total financial aid of BND 75,000 to 18 household heads at the ministry.
Among the 18 recipients of financial aid, 8 households were affected by strong winds, 3 by fire, 6 by floods, and 1 was living in an unsafe house; meanwhile, one family affected by fire also received essential items and food supplies. All disaster victims and residents of the affected houses are reported to be safe, with no injuries.
The authorities provided this financial aid to alleviate the hardships experienced by disaster victims and to safeguard the well-being of their families. This demonstrates the government’s care and concern for people and residents affected by disasters.
Present at the event to deliver the financial aid to the disaster victims was the Permanent Secretary (Community Affairs) of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, who is also the Acting Director of JAPEM, Awang Rusdin,
who attended the event in his capacity as Chairman of the Council.
