The Ministry of Health emphasized that it has not received any reports from public or private medical institutions regarding any fatalities in the Putra Heights gas explosion incident.
The Ministry of Health stated in a statement today that due to this, the ministry has lodged a police report against comments on social media claiming that there were fatalities in the gas explosion incident.
The statement added that the Ministry has also reported this matter to the Communications and Multimedia Commission.
“Irresponsible individuals spreading false information that causes public unrest will be dealt with severely according to the law.”
Concerning the victims receiving treatment, the Ministry of Health noted that as of 12:30 PM yesterday, a total of 38 people remained hospitalized, with 17 in hospitals under the Ministry's jurisdiction and 21 in private hospitals.
The Ministry stated that one victim is still in the intensive care unit of a private hospital, but their condition is gradually improving.
“Overall, a total of 150 victims have received treatment, with 127 suffering burns or other direct injuries, 18 affected by anxiety, panic attacks, and hypertension, and another 5 no longer receiving treatment.”
The statement mentioned that government medical institutions will ensure that victims continue to receive the necessary support, particularly burn victims treated at Kuala Lumpur General Hospital and Putrajaya Hospital.
“This also includes mental health support services, which play a critical role in helping affected families return to their daily lives as soon as possible.”
The statement said that the 8 medical personnel affected by the incident would receive comprehensive support until they can return to their duties.
