U.S. President Trump implemented reciprocal tariffs on multiple countries starting at midnight local time on Wednesday (9th), but announced in the afternoon that more than 75 countries had contacted the U.S. seeking negotiations and have not taken retaliatory actions. He authorized the suspension of the measure for 90 days, during which only a 10% reciprocal tariff will be implemented, effective immediately.
However, Trump also stated that tariffs on China will immediately increase to 125%.
