Japanese Bossa Nova Queen Lisa Ono will hold a special concert, “LOVE TO LOVE: Bossa Nova Night,” at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on July 3 at 8pm. She will perform together with the Japanese Bossa Nova Band, presenting an evening filled with warmth, rhythm, and elegant musical vibes for the audience.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Lisa Ono grew up influenced by both Brazilian and Japanese cultures. Since her official debut in 1989, she has gradually become one of Asia’s most representative Bossa Nova singers with her gentle and natural voice, rhythmic guitar playing, and poised stage presence. Her music blends the free spirit of Brazil with the delicate sensibility of Japan, creating a unique charm.
To date, Lisa Ono has released over 40 albums and has collaborated with several music legends, including Antonio Carlos Jobim—known as the “Father of Bossa Nova”—and Brazilian jazz pianist João Donato. Her performances have spanned the globe, from New York and Tokyo to major cities across Asia, continuing to present the distinctive appeal of Bossa Nova with grace and infectious artistry.
