(Miri, 24th)—Sarawak Deputy Minister of Tourism Dato Chin Chao Yao carried out festive visits on the second and third days of Hari Raya, calling on 25 households of community leaders and Muslim friends. Through actions, he embodied the spirit of mutual support and harmonious coexistence among all ethnic groups.

Dato Chin Chao Yao said that during every festive season, the people of Sarawak consistently show a high degree of goodwill and inclusiveness. All ethnicities celebrate together, making Sarawak a model of harmonious coexistence among diverse groups. This sense of inclusion and unity is precisely the core value that Sarawak prides itself on.

He said that people of all communities, regardless of religious or cultural background, visiting one another, is the truest representation of the festive joyous atmosphere. Especially during Hari Raya, not only can one gain a deeper understanding of Muslim compatriots’ festive culture, but also share in their joy and reunion time.

Dato Chin Chao Yao emphasized that Hari Raya is not only a religious celebration, but also an important platform to strengthen the spirit of unity, mutual respect, and harmonious atmosphere—these have long been the core values of Sarawak society.

He pointed out that making visits during festive seasons has become a tradition; different groups gathering together to celebrate is the true meaning of festivals, and is also the best way to foster interethnic connections and promote social harmony.
