An Indonesian woman, aged 44, died after being swallowed by a giant python measuring 7.8 meters in length.

According to Indonesian media reports, the incident occurred on June 9, in North Maluku Province, Indonesia (Maluku Utara). The victim was a 44-year-old woman named Elizabeth.

Reports indicate that at around 3:20 p.m. local time, Elizabeth went alone to the plantation to lead her family's cow, and the plantation is located only 300 meters from her home.

However, after several hours had passed and Elizabeth did not return home, her husband Benjamin began to worry and proceeded to the plantation to search for his wife.

Benjamin saw a giant python and discovered that his wife had been swallowed by the snake.

Adnan, Chief of Taliabu Island (Pulau Taliabu) Police Station, stated that upon witnessing the scene, the husband immediately picked up a tool in his hand and tried to cut the snake's tongue in an attempt to save his wife.

Benjamin struggled to pull his wife out from the snake's mouth and body, but it was already too late.

Adnan revealed that although Benjamin managed to pull his wife out, she was confirmed dead at the scene.

At 9 p.m. that night, Benjamin sought help from villagers to transport his wife's body out of the plantation.

Following the incident, police urged local residents to remain vigilant at all times when visiting plantations.
