(Kuching, Jan 4) Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap, along with Kapitan Chai Yong Neng and officials from the Sarawak Community Welfare Department, visited a 53-year-old man residing in the Kuching Resettlement Area with a left leg injury, to provide assistance.
It is understood that the man previously worked in grass cutting but injured his left leg during work. The wound has not fully healed for over a year, causing him pain and difficulty walking.
The injured man is currently unable to work, and his father is an 84-year-old retiree with only a monthly pension of 800 Ringgit, struggling to cover the daily expenses and needs of his 70-year-old wife and ill son.
Wilfred Yap has urged officials from the Sarawak Social Welfare Department to expedite the processing of economic and social assistance applications, and he himself will seek other avenues, including the social insurance agency, to ensure the man receives the necessary government aid.
