Chinese actor Wang Xing (Xingxing), who played "Shepherd Boy" in "Fox Spirit Matchmaker," was reported by his girlfriend on Weibo on the 5th that he was allegedly deceived into going to Thailand and later went missing at the Thai-Myanmar border. The very popular Huang Zitao is also concerned about the incident, even going live online to urge everyone to stay safe. He condemned this as a fake film crew human trafficking scheme and hoped that no more people would be deceived, further denouncing these scam gangs as inhumane.
One of Thailand's three major TV stations, Channel 7, tweeted that Xingxing has been found and is currently in Myanmar, safe, and is expected to be returned to Thailand on the 7th, accompanied by officials and military for handover.
