(Miri, 24th) The '3rd Borneo Diabetes International Conference 2025' will be held from September 19 to 21 at the Imperial Hotel in Miri, with registration officially opening on April 1. The first 250 registrants can enjoy an early bird discount.
The Miri District Branch of Diabetes Malaysia held a press conference this afternoon at the Grand Palace Restaurant, where the preparation committee chairman, Mr. Jong Koi Chong , stated that the conference is organized by the branch and supported by the Business Events Sarawak, Miri Hospital, Miri Health Department, and the National Headquarters of Diabetes Malaysia.
The theme of the conference is 'Revolutionizing Diabetes Care: Innovations, Challenges, and Opportunities,' and it is expected to gather around 350 healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocates from ASEAN countries to discuss global health challenges such as diabetes and obesity.
The conference will feature various keynote speeches, academic seminars, scientific meetings, and expert dialogues aimed at raising awareness about the relationship between diabetes and obesity and their global growth trends; promoting prevention strategies, including healthy eating, exercise, and regular screening; introducing cutting-edge diabetes and obesity treatment options and personalized management methods.
The three-day conference will focus on topics such as 'The Future of Diabetes Care: Innovations on the Horizon,' 'Emerging Technologies in Diabetes Management: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Health, and Wearable Devices,' 'Addressing Health Disparities in Diabetes: A Global Perspective,' and 'Workplace Interventions for Diabetes and Obesity Prevention: ASEAN Perspective.'
The conference will invite several international and local renowned experts to deliver talks, including Professor Datuk Dr. Mafauzy Mohamed, a senior endocrinologist and diabetes expert from the University of Science, Malaysia, Professor Dr. Ronald C. W. Ma from the Department of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Dr. E. Shyong Tai from the National University Hospital, Singapore, and Professor Dr. Nemencio Nicodemus Jr. from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine.
In addition, 16 diabetes experts from Malaysia and ASEAN countries have also been invited by the organizers to give presentations and share the latest diabetes treatment plans with the 350 participants attending the conference. They will lead the conference discussions, providing attendees with the latest research findings and developments in the field of diabetes care.
