Chinese Man Expels Kidney Stone Unexpectedly After Riding Roller Coaster in Japan Three Times

Recently, a Chinese male tourist at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka unexpectedly passed a kidney stone after riding three roller coaster attractions, sparking heated discussions online. Some netizens joked: "In the future, a doctor's prescription might read: Roller coaster, three times a day." However, urology experts stress that this is just a rare and accidental occurrence and do not recommend patients try to imitate it. If symptoms appear, people should seek medical treatment in time.

According to the Yangcheng Evening News, Mr. Wang, the person involved, shared on the 15th that he is a patient with multiple kidney stones. While traveling in Japan recently, he began experiencing symptoms of frequent and urgent urination and suspected that a kidney stone had moved into his ureter. Because it was a local public holiday, he could not seek medical attention, so he continued with his plan to visit Universal Studios. After consecutively experiencing three roller coaster rides, including the Flying Dinosaur, he unexpectedly passed a small black stone, and his discomfort immediately disappeared.

Dr. Li Tian, chief urologist at the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, explained that the intense vibrations and rapid changes in position from roller coasters could help propel a small stone already lodged in the lower or middle section of the ureter. However, he emphasized that this approach carries risks, such as the stone getting stuck or scratching the mucosa, and that patients should receive regular treatment based on the size and location of the stone.

Mr. Wang also reminded netizens that this was purely a matter of personal luck and urged other patients not to imitate his experience.
