The official WeChat account of the Gansu Provincial Department of Natural Resources announced on the evening of the 15th that the project “1:50,000 Mineral Prospecting Survey in the Qianhongquan–Beitan Area, Yumen City, Gansu Province” has recently discovered a large gold deposit, with newly added gold resources exceeding 40 tons. This is the largest achievement in metal resource exploration since the establishment of the Geological Exploration Fund in Gansu Province in 2009.
According to a report by Guancha.cn, the “Preliminary Survey of the Qianhongquan Gold Deposit in Yumen City, Gansu Province” project was launched in 2019. From 2019 to 2024, a total of 76.28 million RMB (45.2578 million Malaysian Ringgit) was invested over six exploration cycles. The project discovered a new gold mineralization belt, approximately 14 kilometers in length and 10–100 meters in width, adding more than 40 tons of gold resources—the equivalent to two large gold deposits in terms of resource volume.
According to the Gansu Provincial Department of Natural Resources, the Qianhongquan gold deposit was discovered through successive large-scale mapping and geochemical prospecting techniques based on basic geological surveys. This large gold deposit provides significant guidance for the search for gold deposits associated with ductile shear zones in the southern belt of Beishan, Gansu. In particular, it offers valuable insight into the selection of exploration methods, prospecting concepts, and directions.
