KUANTAN, April 2 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to undertake a one-day working visit here tomorrow, focusing on district development initiatives as well as engagement with youth and silat practitioners.

His political secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, said the visit will begin with Friday prayers at Masjid Saidina Umar Al-Khattab in Cenderawasih, followed by a meet-and-greet session with local residents.

“After prayers, the Prime Minister will chair the Kuantan District Development Meeting at the District and Land Office to discuss local development priorities, including efforts to strengthen the district economy and improve public wellbeing,” he said in a statement today.

In the afternoon, Anwar is set to attend the Anak Pahang MADANI Youth Gathering at the Kuantan UTC compound at 3 pm, expected to draw more than 7,000 young people from across the state.

“The gathering will provide a platform for youth in Pahang to build awareness, sharpen critical thinking and play an active role in shaping the nation’s future, while also engaging directly with the Prime Minister to share views and ideas,” Ahmad Farhan noted.

Ahmad Farhan said Anwar will conclude the visit in the evening at the Gathering of Pendekar MADANI Pahang at the Pahang Sports Complex (SUKPA), bringing together silat masters, teachers and practitioners from across the state.

He said the programme underscores efforts to elevate silat as a cultural heritage while reinforcing values of discipline, unity and camaraderie.

Ahmad Farhan said the two gatherings reflect a balance between nurturing young minds and strengthening cultural identity and national spirit.

“It also highlights the MADANI Government’s commitment to empowering youth as future national assets while preserving cultural heritage so it remains vibrant and relevant in line with the Malaysia MADANI framework,” he said.
