China and Vietnam will hold a border defense friendship exchange event in mid-March, during which both sides will organize joint naval patrols and training.
According to a message from the WeChat official account of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense on Sunday (March 15), the 10th China-Vietnam Border Defense Friendship Exchange will be held in mid-March, in relevant areas, border ports, and the Beibu Gulf sea area of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China and Quang Ninh Province in Vietnam.
During the event, both sides will organize joint naval flotilla patrols and joint training, border medical consultations, cultural and sports gatherings for troops and civilians at the border, and lay wreaths at the China-Vietnam People’s Revolutionary Martyrs Monument.
The Chinese Ministry of National Defense stated that this event will further enhance the traditional friendship between the two countries and their militaries, strengthen personnel exchanges and mutual trust at all levels, deepen practical cooperation, and improve the joint capability to maintain security along the border and in relevant sea areas.
