(Malacca, 10th) Another campus attack incident! A Form One male student chased three classmates with a utility knife, causing quite a commotion at school.

Allegedly due to being bullied, a 13-year-old Form One male student suddenly took out a utility knife and chased after three classmates during an on-campus activity. The incident sparked chaos on campus, but fortunately, no one was hurt as the student put down the knife after being persuaded by teachers.

The police investigation found that the student involved had previously received mental and psychological treatment and had shown disciplinary problems together with other related students involved in the case since the beginning of this year.

The incident happened around 2:50 pm on Thursday (the 9th), during an event held in the school hall of a secondary school in Alor Gajah, Malacca.

Alor Gajah District Police Chief, Superintendent Ahmad Abu Bakar, indicated that preliminary investigations showed that the student, after being repeatedly pelted with ice by two male classmates aged 13 and 14, took a utility knife from his pencil case in anger and chased one of them for about 50 meters, until near the school's prayer room.

He said that the other two classmates who were together with the student at the time fled the scene out of concern they would also be affected.

"Fortunately, a teacher intervened timely and calmed the student down, persuading him to put down the utility knife. No students or teachers were injured in this incident."

He revealed that after the incident, the student's family was notified by the school and took the student home.

He cited police investigations that found the student involved had received psychiatric and psychological health treatment at Malacca Hospital, with the most recent record of follow-up on June 3rd.

In addition, police also found that the student involved and other students related to this case had records of disciplinary problems since the beginning of this year.

Police are currently investigating the case under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
