The well-known Taiwanese hip-hop group MJ116 is bringing their brand-new themed tour "OGS" to Malaysia, with a concert scheduled for October 2 at 8pm at Mega Star Arena KL. This marks the group’s first large-scale solo concert in Malaysia with their complete lineup since forming in 2004, regarded as a major event eagerly awaited by local hip-hop fans.
MJ116 consists of E.SO, KENZY, and MUTA. The "MJ" in their name comes from Muzha, Taipei—where all three members grew up—while "116" is the area’s postal code, symbolizing their musical roots and identity from the streets. In 2018, they clinched the Golden Melody Award for their album "Big Thing," and signature tracks like "Just Believe" and "South Side" continue to be widely circulated, cementing their status as "OG" figures in the Chinese hip-hop scene.
This tour adopts the theme "OGS," not only symbolizing MJ116’s standing in Chinese hip-hop, but also reflecting the trio’s return to their original passion and love for rap. Since its launch, the tour has spanned multiple cities, including seven sold-out arena shows at Taipei Arena, as well as stops in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Xiamen, Beijing, Taiyuan, Hong Kong, and Kaohsiung, all met with fervent response thanks to high-level production and a consistently strong stage presence.
The Kuala Lumpur stop promises a fully upgraded audiovisual experience, showcasing the group’s journey from underground hip-hop to the mainstream stage. The setlist features party anthems such as "Big Thing," "MJ Fresh Gang," "Sheng Jian Bao," and "Brothers Enter the City," as well as emotional classics like "Lost Lamb," "Hands in Pockets," "Here We Are," and "Just Believe." Multiple new tracks from the "OGS" album will be added, weaving classics together with fresh sounds.
