According to a news report by Sarawak Television (TVS), these honors are awarded to acknowledge Abang Johari's key contributions to the development of Sarawak and his influence on the Malaysian political landscape.

In the 137th episode of the podcast, co-host Khairy praised Abang Johari's leadership skills as he led significant transformations in Sarawak and Malaysia.

Khairy, a former Minister of Health, stated, "When you see how Sarawak plans for the future, including acquiring a substantial stake in Affin Bank, taking over Bintulu Port from the federal government, to the ambition of launching its own airline through MASwings, these all demonstrate his extraordinary vision."

Khairy also emphasized Abang Johari's ability to address critical issues, such as the natural gas resource allocation between Sarawak Oil Company and Petronas, showcasing his commitment to safeguarding Sarawak's rights.
