US President Trump stated on the 1st that Israel has agreed to the essential conditions for a 60-day ceasefire agreement with Hamas, and called on Hamas to also accept the agreement.
He posted on social media saying that the US and Israel held lengthy talks on the Gaza situation that day, and Israel agreed to the essential conditions for a 60-day ceasefire agreement, with Qatar and Egypt to submit the final text of the agreement.
He said: “I hope Hamas can accept this agreement, because the situation will not improve—only worsen.”
According to US media reports, Trump will meet visiting Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House on the 7th to discuss the situation in Gaza and the Iranian nuclear issue. This will be Netanyahu’s third visit to the US since Trump returned to the White House in January this year.
